Once we have finalized, approved cover and interior files, Gatekeeper Press has the option of sending forward a physical proof in the mail for an author to review. Below are potential errors caught when authors receive these proofs:
Broken Binding
Please note that binding is securely glued at the printing facility and sent after it has dried. In some cases, due to page count, books may not lay as flat as desired. If you force this to open, this binding may break and the spine is damaged.
Colors aren't Vibrant
Please note that print variance within 1/16 plus or minus is considered acceptable in print on-demand technology. In most cases, however, we are able to make minor adjustments to get this as close to the desired coloration as possible.
Editing Errors/Text Changes
We will correct any formatting-related issues free of charge, but we do charge fees to implement content changes (unless you signed up for one of our editing services and need us to correct an oversight). If you find anything that needs to be changed, you must send that information using our content change form here. Please download the file to your computer to begin adding your content changes. You will then email the new file that includes your changes to me for your edits to be implemented.

1-10 changes: $40
11-25 changes: $65
26-50 changes: $90
51+ changes: $125 per hour
*Content change fees are not cumulative. They are charged for each new batch of edits, so it is most cost-effective to consolidate all edits as best you can.
Please note, it can take us up to 5-7 business days to implement formatting or content-related edits (longer if you do not use our submission form). The amount of time it takes depends on several factors, including how clearly you convey the edits to us, the workload of our formatters, and the complexity of edits themselves.
